How to get rid of love-handles and muffin-tops … mmm, let me see. How can I put this without offending anyone? There is a terrible misconception that love-handles and muffin-tops are separate entities from the rest of your body, meaning (people think) that one can get rid of them without affecting other parts of your anatomy.

"What the hell is she going on about?"… I can hear you asking.

I found this video on youtube it may be worth while watcing it. I don't know who this guy is but

to get rid of love
handles" he has a point

Love-handles, belly fat, fat thighs, flabby arms, chubby cheeks etc are all composed of the same thing. Yes, you guessed it - fat! And it is a physiological impossibility to lose fat from one part of our bodies and not the rest (except with surgery). So you don't have to be a genius to figure out that you can't get rid of love-handles without getting rid of the excess fat from other parts of your body as well.

So if you are trying to work out specifically how to get rid of love handles and muffin tops, then you really need to be asking yourself the more general question of: how can I get rid of some excess weight?

Just to stretch the point here … If (let's say) you are searching the internet for a love-handle solution, you would do just as well to type into the search bar "how to get rid of flabby thighs" - because they are all the same so far as your body is concerned. (Remember that physiological fact I mentioned earlier.)

"Okay," I hear you say, "now that you've told me everything I can't do, would you please ANSWER the darn question of how to get RID of love handles for crying out loud!"  

Well, believe me, when it comes to having a spare tyre drooping over my waistband, I consider myself an expert.

So here are the hard cold facts: you will get rid of love handles in
exactly the same way as you would get rid of any other body fat
that may be surplus to your requirements: DIET and EXERCISE.
                               
               Dieting to remove love handles

There are no special diets strictly for getting rid of muffin tops. Theoretically, any diet plan will do. However, in practice the diet plan that will work best for removing your love handles will be the diet plan that fits best into your current lifestyle and not necessarily one that fits in with someone else's lifestyle.

"Hey, ma'am ... you're talking gobbledygook again!"

Okay, let me clarify that statement: the reason most diets fail is because people select a diet plan that conflicts with their present lifestyle and consequently the diet plan  becomes to much of an inconvenience, or far too arduous to maintain for any reasonable amount of time to see results. An example of this would be: choosing the "raw food diet" when you actually look forward to cooking every evening, or the "Atkins diet" if you don't like eating a lot of meat, or the "500-calorie diet" if you do manual work.

Are you following me?               If you can't live comfortably with a particular diet plan, the plan will start to feel as if it is competing against you ... and when that happens, you are on a slippery slope to failure.

What you have to ask yourself is not "does this diet work?" or "is this diet really true?" but "is this diet the most appropriate diet for me and my life?"

So, rule no. 1: if you want to know how to get rid of love handles, only select a diet plan that you know you can comfortably sustain for long enough to see some results - or be prepared for a frustrating ride probably ending in failure. 
    
Now for the exercise stuff.
           And it's also time to dispel a few "old wives' tales."

First, let's get rid of one more love handle myth: just as you can't "spot diet" weight, it is also impossible to "spot exercise" it off. What this means is: it really doesn't matter how many sit-ups, crunches, torso twists, or any other form of isolated abdomen exercises you do, they won't directly help you lose your love handles.

Note the word "directly", because if you want to master the art of removing unsightly love handles from drooping over your jeans, then it is worthwhile understanding the differences between fat and muscles or to put it another way, diet and exercise.
